Things To Do in Breckenridge with the Whole Family

Summit County is a great vacation spot. It’s only an hour away from the Denver Metro Area so it provides easy access to both the big city amenities and the natural scenery and activities of the Breckenridge mountains. 

Breckenridge, a part of Summit County, is a wonderful town in the Rocky Mountains. While many people come here for winter skiing trips, there are a number of fun things kids and adults alike can enjoy in the area while on vacation here.

1. Spend a day on Lake Dillon

One of the best places to visit in Breckenridge is Lake Dillon. Here, you can spend the day on a pontoon or a kayak. There are kayaks for kids available meaning the whole family can enjoy this activity. These children’s kayaks are meant for kids ages 7-12. Parents are easily able to tow their little ones if they can’t paddle. 

You can get tandem kayaks as well, which hold two people if you don’t want to go by yourself. If your kids want a regular kayak, they have to be at least 12 years or older. Keep in mind that the minimum passenger weight for kids is 30 lbs.

For those who prefer beautiful views and staying dry, take a scenic drive around Swan Mountain Road. This road offers a great view of Lake Dillon.

The Creative Arts District in Breckenridge hosts a variety of family-friendly art classes. You can choose from a variety of daily hands-on workshops and classes from experienced teachers and artists.
