What Is the ULLR Fest?
To understand the tradition of ULLR Fest, you have to go back over 50 years. It all starts with the tale of a Norwegian man named Ullr who loved to ski. He used to travel through America on his skies and hunt for pleasure. Ullr’s travels finally brought him to Breckenridge, CO, where he made a home and blessed the town with snow every year. To thank Ullr for his gift, Breckenridge holds an annual festival in his honor. The community celebrates the God of Winter’s power in the hopes of experiencing another fun and snowy season. The first ULLR Festival took place in 1963, when locals partied and praised Ullr with gold coins, skiing, and beer.
What Can You Expect at the Festival
